ILSC's are learning communities
In educating and therefore enlightening classroom teachers about information literacy, they must be aware that an information literate school community must be a learning community. Henri (2005) states the obvious in arguing that if a school wants to create an information literate school community they will establish systems which will make it happen. Teaching information skills separately from the curriculum has been found to be ineffective (Hazell, 1990). Therefore, there must be systems set up which enable collaborative planning, programming and teaching.
