Comparing and contrasting the models

OK THIS is what I have gathered.....all three models assume that the process is problem based. I think this is an important key features. How......well, the model kind of acts as a formula in order to solve an information problem or task.

Is it the same or different...... weeeeell, the models follow a similar formula, this involves defining the task; identifying, finding, selecting and using information; and evaluating the product and the process.

How? The Big6 and NSW model are very similar in these steps. However, each refers to the skill, action and strategy by a different name. For example, all models contain a key concept of definition whereby the topic or problem is defined in order to clarify the task. For the Big6 and NSW model, this is the first step in the process. The ISP, however, begins with a stage of initiation where although the strategies are similar (brainstorming and discussion) defining actually occurs in the fifth stage of information collection, where key terms are used to assist in locating information.

Im off to a great start!
