Explanation
For anyone (disregarding the fact that I am the only follower of my page) wondering about the title of my blog..... it relates to the misunderstanding of the role of a TL. Often our jobs are very misunderstood and under appreciated I must add. I think partly due to the considerable variation of duties from school to school. Some TLs are library/rff, just library, CPPT, library/exec etc. Other misunderstandings come from the variance in how we all implement our program and carry out our roles and responsibilities. For example, a friend of mine does not do borrowing during class time where another dominates schedules class library time with borrowing. Many of my non-teacher friends find it hilarious that I am a Teacher Librarian because I 'don't fit the mould'. What is this mould and where did this stereotype come from? What keeps it 'relevant'? I do enjoy martinis, I didn't think my alcoholic preference should relate to me professionally. I found a great website with many funny quotes relating to librarians and this was one of them. I will blog the URL tomorrow sometime. I hope everyone (aka me) has had a brilliant weekend! (which I did)

Very true and very well said! As a follower of your blog, I must agree that it seems others, some of whom may be colleagues, can fit us TLs into a 'mould' and quite readily have an opinion about what they think we do in our day to day roles. I really think 'A day in the life of a TL' should be experienced by everyone just for perception sake. Happy reading Sharna ;)
